Why We Need You

Because of our growth, Oegema Grains is seeking an Import Specialist for our headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. Your role involves coordinating the entire imports process, from documentation and sampling to shipment delivery, while ensuring compliance and efficient communication.

Who You'll Be Working With

You will be collaborating with a diverse team of professionals, including suppliers, freight forwarders, brokers, and regulatory agencies such as CBP, FDA, and USDA. You will also work closely with customers, addressing inquiries, processing orders, and managing logistics. Additionally, you will support team members, participate in staff meetings, and engage in special projects, contributing to the overall success of the Specialty Products team.

Who You Are

You are a detail-oriented professional with import experience, adept at coordinating imports processes, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies. You excel in customer service, effectively handling inquiries, processing orders, and managing logistics. Your strong administrative skills include contract verification, document management, and proficiency with inventory control software and Microsoft Office. With basic accounting skills and the ability to compute rates and understand foreign exchange, you support your team in day-to-day operations and special projects. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and knowledge of Spanish are a plus.

  • Coordinates various aspects of the imports process, including proper documentation and communication with suppliers, freight forwarders, brokers, and regulatory agencies (CBP, FDA, USDA).
  • Oversees pre-shipment sampling and loading protocols.
  • Coordinates final delivery of shipments to customers using various modes of transportation.
  • Receives, examines, and approves documents from overseas suppliers.
  • Computes tariff duties, price conversions, and weight and volume of imported merchandise.
  • Makes payments to suppliers, brokers, shipping companies, and others in the supply chain.
  • Speaks with customers by phone concerning general inquiries, orders, shipments, and products.
  • Receives and communicates orders to vested parties while coordinating and processing orders with customers.
  • Verifies sales orders for correct pricing, delivery dates, and ensures accuracy.
  • Reviews and verifies shipping documents against contracts and generates invoices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, plus 1 - 2 years of Import experience. Bachelor's degree in business or related field is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous, respectful and helpful).
  • Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
  • Demonstrates the ability to solve problems and handle upset customers in a professional manner.
  • Proficient in basic accounting skills, and the ability to calculate figures and amounts.
  • Strong computer (Word, Excel, and Outlook), presentation and data handling skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to compute rates and understand the basics of foreign exchange.
  • Must be detail oriented and demonstrate initiative to identify things out of the ordinary and obtain clarification.

Who We Are Looking For:

Our flagship Canada mill located in Southwold, ON is looking for candidates wanting to make a change in their career in a variety of different areas. We offer positions ranging from primarily operating a forklift, running automated packaging lines, to running state of the art milling equipment at one of the most technologically advanced oat mills in North America.

Due to internal movements, facility expansion, and some promotions, we are looking to fill multiple night shift operator and assistant operator positions. These range in starting pay from $20.20-$21.30 per hour with a $1.50 shift premium for working overnights.

Our operators are responsible for running computer-based programing to control many pieces of milling equipment making food products within a wide range of customer specifications. In addition to the computer and plc driven controls, operators make mills rounds checking many different pieces of equipment to ensure proper operation. Operators are also responsible for completing an array of different quality assurance checks dependent on customer needs.

Assistants are expected to learn the duties of the operator, to fill in during their absence, but their primary role is to assist and work as part of a team. In some instances, this means completing more of the sampling and periodic machine checks.

As a canister line operator, you will be responsible for packaging oatmeal to be sold by some of the biggest household brands in the world. You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot a series of machines who take raw materials and turn them in to the canisters of oatmeal you find on store shelves nationwide. In addition to machine operation, you will perform a variety of quality control checks assuring consumers get packages of oatmeal that not only taste good but look good too. You will need to work as part of a team, and communicate with supervisors, mill operators, quality assurance technicians, and warehouse personnel to help run our operation smoothly and keep our workplace clean.

Ideally, we are looking for applicants with forklift experience, and previous work experience as either a machine operator or in the food manufacturing industry. However, if you have a good attitude and work ethic, and a mechanical aptitude, we will train you. This position currently works 6AM-4PM Monday-Thursday.

Who We Are Looking For:

This position is responsible for assisting in many areas, but primarily you will be operating the toting stations, filling super sacks with oatmeal and other grain ingredients to send to our customers for use in some of your favorite products. After filling the supersack and removing it from the tote station with a forklift, you will use our warehouse information system to enter the product into inventory and print labels to be applied for tracking purposes. When the supersack has been labelled, tied shut, and stretch wrapped, you will then take it to our warehouse for temporary storage. While you are waiting for your next supersack to fill, you will be organizing supplies, checking magnets for foreign material, performing quality checks, and keeping your work area clean. Most super sacks are stored in drive through industrial racks, so forklift and drive through rack experience is preferred. You will also periodically be loading bulk trailers of oatmeal and oat flour and helping mill operators as needed. You must have the ability to communicate and work as a team member and follow all safety policies and good manufacturing practices.

Our Warehouse Utility team plays a critical role in making sure our customers get the correct industrial sized ingredients every time. You will be one of the last to make sure our product arrives to our customers living up to our quality standards.

The Schedule:

We are looking for both day and night shift 4 on 4 off warehouse utility employees. Work hours are either 7 AM to 7:30 PM or 7 PM to 7:30 AM. This type of schedule means only working around 180 days per year as opposed to a traditional Monday through Friday job where you work around 260 days each year. Throw in our 3 weeks of PTO your first year, and track record of not forcing overtime (but it's there if you want it) and you will have plenty of time to enjoy your life outside of work.

This position is responsible for packaging our oat fiber in 50-pound bags and supersacks ranging from 1500-2000 pounds. 50-pound bags are packaged using an automated system that fills the bag to the correct weight, seals it, and prints product information on the side while being conveyed through a check-weigher and metal detector on the way to a robot that will stack the product onto pallets. Once pallets are full, they will be stretch wrapped by an automated wrapper, and sent down the line for you to remove and place in the warehouse with a forklift. At times, you will also fill 1500-2000-pound supersacks using an automated fill valve and scale system. After filling the supersack and removing it from the tote station with a forklift, you will use our warehouse information system to enter the product into inventory and print labels to be applied for tracking purposes. When the supersack has been labelled, tied shut, and stretch wrapped, you will then take it to our warehouse for temporary storage.

During downtime, you will be organizing supplies, checking magnets for foreign material, performing quality checks, and keeping your work area clean. You must have the ability to communicate and work as a team member and follow all safety policies and good manufacturing practices.

What You Will Be Doing:

Are you looking for a new opportunity in the maintenance profession for a growing company with industry leading benefits? We have an opening for a Monday-Friday 3rd Shift (8 hour) maintenance technician. This role includes PM's (preventative maintenance) and performing various maintenance tasks to get equipment back up and running. You will communicate with operations and support personnel to achieve operational goals and be responsible for following all good manufacturing practices and policies to maintain food grade processes. We work as a team with all areas of production, management, and maintenance. This position will have you using various hand tools, welding, fabricating, machining, and more. You will also be tasked with operating a maintenance information system that tracks all PM's and workorders. Our facility has equipment throughout many different areas. You will be tasked with climbing ladders, using catwalks, and working in different climates.

We are looking for the type of person that likes to figure things out and dig into a problem. Previous maintenance, welding, and millwright experience is preferred, but we are willing to train candidates with a willingness to learn and strong work ethic. What You Will Be Doing:

Our flagship Canada mill in Southwold, ON is seeking a 4 on 4 off Night Shift Quality Assurance Technician. This position works 6pm-6:30 am. Our QA Technicians are responsible for approving and signing off on all shipments of industrial products prior to shipment, analyzing and maintaining records on incoming grain, in-process product, and finished product, reporting QA issues to management and operators to ensure production is correct and product meets specifications for safe quality product, and other duties as assigned.

Some day-to-day testing functions will include Moisture Analysis, Bulk Density, Absorbtion, Granulation Analysis, Enzyme Level Determination and Foreign Material Counts.

You must be able to work on your feet, climb stairs and ladders, and remain alert throughout a 12-hour overnight shift.

Who We Are Looking For:

We would prefer someone with an Associate's degree in a food science or other scientific focus or previous food manufacturing and testing experience, but we are willing to train candidates with a willingness to learn and strong work ethic. The successful candidate must be able to multitask, work as part of a team, have sound decision making skills, and able to work safely.

This position is primarily responsible for loading semi-trailers with finished goods and organizing our large warehouse. This includes keeping accurate records and paperwork, making sure each truck gets the right load, and making sure all pallets are scanned to the truck using our RF scan guns. You are the last line of defense in making sure our customers get the right products, and they are loaded and arrive in great condition, which includes having a COA and other paperwork. You will also be tasked with learning to drive a yard truck. Some driving responsibilities include backing trailers into dock doors, load-out areas, and yard organization and management.

Some other responsibilities include, warehouse organization, customer service in communication with dispatchers, truck drivers, and internal logistics employees. You will also be tasked with trailer inspection and completing trailer check-ins in our food security building.

Forklift and Yard Truck experience are preferred, but we are willing to train in those areas.

This position works 4 on 4 off, 6AM to 6:30PM
